How it is Used ?

This mortar and pestle is very  heavy, well balanced  and suitable for rigorous pounding and grinding the items. 

Follow the following rules when using the mortar and pestle.

1. Pound the firmer ingredients you put in the mortar with a up and down motion.

2. When grinding finer or liquid ingredients use a circular motion.

What you are trying to do is add a single ingredient one at a time and building on the flavor of the final product you are making. This grinding process allows the natural oils to be released makes for better flavors.  As you do this it makes a very flavorful product. It gives more flavor to you food than a food prepared in a Food Processor.

A Note to Remember:  These mortar and pestles can be very heavy.  I recommend you put a folded dish towel on the counter to protect  your counter. The use of the Mortar and Pestle  can damage your countertop.
